SINCE THE FIRST ALASKAN NATIVES ARRIVED, Eyak Lake has always been a desirable place to gather, celebrate and recreate.  Eyak Lake and its 19 miles of shoreline are designated by the State of Alaska as an “Area Meriting Special Attention.”  Goals of this status are to improve or maintain water quality and protect fish and wildlife habitat while encouraging recreation within the planning area.
