Copper River Valley’s 4th of July Celebration

Celebrate the 4th of July in Copper Valley!

Kenny Lake Fair

Started in 1974 by the Kenny Lake Community League, the Kenny Lake Fair is Alaska’s longest running community fair. In August the community gathers for music, food, dancing, and games. Visit the event website for more information.

Mentasta and Slana Canoe Days

Join the CRWP in celebration of the amazing Copper River watershed by meandering down one of its tributaries in a canoe of kayak. During this day-trip we learn about local fish and insect species through hands-on explorations and discuss strategies for supporting healthy salmon populations in an ever-changing environment. We take time to enjoy the company of old and new friends over a picnic lunch and reflect on the incredible landscape that surrounds us in this corner of the watershed. And as we drag our toes or dip our fingers in the Slana River, we will think of the journey that lies ahead for each drop of water, headed downstream, through the Wrangells and into the Chugach Mountains…meandering across the Copper River Delta and into the Gulf of Alaska.
