Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival (Cordova, AK, from May 04, 2012 07:30 AM to May 06, 2012 09:00 PM)

Flock to Cordova to witness the spring migration of thousands of shorebirds returning to their nesting grounds in the Arctic after spending the winter in the Southern hemisphere. They stop on the mudflats of the Copper River Delta to rest and fuel up for the remainder of their trip. Field trips, presentations, art workshops and good food are all on the calendar for the weekend.

Deadline for the 2012 CRWP scholarship application is April 2nd. All graduating seniors in the Copper River watershed are eligible. There will be two $1,000 awards presented--one to an upriver student and one to a Cordova student.
